Care First Home Health has joined St. Vincent's Health System and is now St. Vincent's Home Health. The joint venture, effective April 1, adds home health services to the
faith-based St. Vincent's System. Care First is a Medicare-certified home health agency serving patients in 12 counties.
The agreement between the organizations extends St. Vincent's care into the home care arena, according to St. Vincent's Health System President & CEO John O'Neil.
"Our agreement with Care First reflects the commitment both organizations have to providing a strong continuum of quality, compassionate care," said O'Neil. "The Daughters of Charity, as the first non-cloistered order of sisters, not only established hospitals, but went into homes to care for the sick. They provide the example of what it means to truly minister to people where they are. The addition of home health to our ministry reaffirms our commitment to this same mission almost 400 years later."
Care First serves patients across central Alabama with a variety of home health services and programs, including highly specialized disease/condition-specific care plans, according to President John Lee.
"Care First serves clients throughout Central Alabama with dignity and clinical excellence. Our mission is to provide care that exceeds expectations by putting people first," said Lee. "We are excited about the opportunity to partner with St. Vincent's to enhance the care both organizations provide to the community."
The Care First mission is to advance home health care with compassion, commitment, and individual responsibility. Care First has 4 Medicare Certified agencies with offices in Birmingham, Oneonta, and Pell City.
