Cardiac Rehab

The Outpatient Cardiac Rehab Program at St. Vincent's St. Clair helps patients return to their regular routine as quickly as possible. The program is designed for patients with cardiovascular problems, specifically those who have had a heart attack, open heart surgery, stents and/or stable angina. A staff of cardiologists, registered nurses, exercise specialist, and dietitians coordinate programs to meet your physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs. This combined cardiovascular exercise, monitoring, and daily education is provided in a fun, casual environment. The program is provided multiple times during the day to fit your schedule. Each patient has an individual exercise prescription designed by an exercise specialist. The prescription is based on the patient's personal goals and the patient's own level of fitness. During each exercise session, the patient wears a heart monitor that provides continuous electrocardiographic monitoring. Classes consist of a warm up/stretch, cardiovascular exercise, and a cool-down period. The length of the program varies from six to twelve weeks, depending on the needs of the patient. The information provided here serves to answer frequently asked questions about our services. If you need further information, please contact St. Vincent's St. Clair Cardiac Rehab at (205) 338-2939.
