Do you know of a student who is entering 11th or 12th grade that is interested in a career in healthcare? If so, SMASH Camp may be just the place to learn more about the dynamic world of healthcare! Healthcare is one of the fastest growing career fields with many different choices that many students may not know are even an option.
Our goal of SMASH Camp is to expose students to these various areas of a healthcare system including clinical and nonclinical professions, rehabilitation services (OT, PT, and Speech), nursing, and physician specialties. Students will engage in a myriad of hands on learning opportunities that will prepare them for some of the tasks they can expect in the different career areas. Students will also have numerous opportunities to learn more about the inner workings of healthcare from our STVHS frontline associates who will be interacting with them over the course of the week and allowing students to shadow them in their department to see what a “day in the life” of that career area looks like.
