Do you know an older adult — a family member, friend or patient — who is struggling with the stresses of aging, the loss of a spouse or limitations caused by the changes in mental or physical abilities? Senior Life Solutions can make a difference.
Our program is designed to meet the unique needs of older adults over the age of 65 struggling with depression and anxiety often related to aging. Physical illness and the mental stresses of growing older can harm a person’s sense of home and well-being. Senior Life Solutions, our intensive outpatient group therapy program, helps older adults in need by improving their emotional and psychological stability, and helping them increase coping and functioning skills to improve their quality of life.
Recognizing the signs
It may be hard to recognize when an older adult may need help with their emotional health. It may also be difficult to get them to accept assistance. People who have been healthy and independent for such a long time can often resist help with the emotional and physical changes they know are taking place.
Signs that may indicate a need for referral to Senior Life Solutions include:
• Difficulty sleeping
• Suicidal thoughts
• Severe memory loss
• Recently experienced a traumatic event
• Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities
• Change of appetite
• Loss of energy
• Feelings of sadness or grief lasting more than two weeks
• Deterioration of daily living skills
• Feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness
• Loss of a spouse or close family member
We will work to overcome obstacles like these and restore your loved one’s quality of life.
