St. Vincent's East reflects a long-standing tradition of medical and nursing excellence, and provides the finest, most up-to-date care and treatment for maternity patients and their newborns. Our family-centered approach to birthing ensures that you and your new family will receive the highest quality care available. The Family Birth Place at St. Vincent's East offers a unique level of comfort for your birthing experience. The entire birthing event - from admission to discharge - will take place in your spacious suite, designed with many amenities to make you feel more relaxed and at-home. Each private suite features a birthing bed that converts to a regular bed and overnight accommodations for your spouse or support person. Also, siblings are allowed in the rooms at all times. Each suite includes the latest in birthing technology, which is tucked away behind doors after delivery.
Facilities are available day and night to handle emergencies, should they arise. If a Cesarean birth is necessary, surgical areas are available. Should your baby require specialized care, our nursery is fully equipped and staffed with neonatal nurses at all times. For seriously ill or premature infants, the Kathy Bedsole Suite may be available for the family's use.
